There are many benefits to shopping online, such as a wider selection of items and more competitive prices, but there are also a few drawbacks. When shopping online for clothes, you can’t really try them on, and most body types don’t neatly fit into the categories stores give shoppers. However, as technology advances, online retailers are overcoming these challenges, and just in time for the holidays as well!
When online shopping for clothes, particularly hard to fit items like bras or pants, most shoppers need to try them on to see if they fit correctly. A new site called Qvit, though, allows users to create an avatar with their specific measurements. Users can try the clothes in their shopping cart on this virtual version of themselves, and see how it looks and feels. There’s a transparency feature that shows how tight or baggy an article is, with a gradient similar to a topography map. If something is red, it’s very tight, and if it’s blue, it’s more than an inch away from the skin.
This feature is perfect for the upcoming holidays. According to Retail Wire, a new survey indicates that, “a quarter of U.K. consumers feel that their online shopping experience is ‘significantly better’ or ‘slightly better’ during the holiday shopping period.” After all, there are special deals during the holidays, in addition to the many other advantages. When you’re online shopping for anything, you have access to an infinite amount of choices, price comparison options, and customer reviews. These reviews are particularly helpful, because they allow you to make an educated decision. Not to mention that there are no pushy salespeople when you’re online shopping for anything!
So whether you’re online shopping for hard to fit clothes, or online shopping for some holiday deals, you’ll have a better experience.
